Deck Replacement
Since the client was concerned that the existing deck was not safe to use, the homeowner contacted IHM Remodeling to build a new one.  The first thing we noticed is that this house has a beautiful backyard and the existing unsafe deck was preventing the homeowner from the full enjoyment and use of the backyard space.  We immediately involved our licensed architect and structural engineer to work with us and the homeowner to design a safe and beautiful replacement deck.  

As you can see, the photos show a newly built, stunningly beautiful, and safe structure that adds value to the home and quality to the family’s life.  Because the new deck is an expansion of the home’s existing living space, the homeowner is now able to fully enjoy the backyard everyday and can entertain family, friends, and neighbors comfortably.


For this customer, this was a “deck replacement.” Their old deck wasn’t safe to use at all. They wanted to stay with the same simple design of the deck being part of their kitchen when the sliding door were open in the Summer. So making sure that the deck was the same floor level as the kitchen floor was a priority for this customer. Again, because of elderly relatives visiting. The difference this time was that we suggested they add the simple bench seating to the design and to make it feel more like real outdoor living space, incorporate the cobblestone border around the deck.
